Combination Fences: If a rider has a run-out or refusal at the second part of the combination the rider does NOT have to retake Part A. If the rider decides to retake the first part of the combination, and incur penalties these are in addition to the original penalties,
Any competitor jumping an unflagged fence, or a fence not numbered for their class will be eliminated. It is the riders responsibility to be aware of the correct course for their class.
Time Penalties
Chilham Park have adopted the scoring system used by the BHS Cross Country Championship
Optimum time is based on meters per minute
Class 1a, 1b and 2 435 meters per minute
Class 3 435 meters per minute
Class 4 450 meters per minute.
Jumping penalties based on British Eventing rules
Time penalties – 1 penalty point for each second (rounded up – down) faster or slower than the optimum time.
Results/Placings
Placings will be decided by:
Taking the absolute nearest time to the optimum time
If riders are equal on penalties and evenly away from the optimum time, the rider with the time slower than the optimum time will be placed higher.
Outside assistance results in elimination, but Jump Judge can assist rider to remount.
If eliminated, the rider MAY carry on, but must allow other riders on course to overtake.
PAIRS COMPETITION
The pair will be marked as a single unit
Times will start as the first rider crosses the start-line and finish as second rider crosses the finish-line
Examples:
- If Horse 1 has a refusal and Horse 2 clears = 20 penalties
- If Horse 1 has a refusal, Horse 2 also refuses = 20+40 penalties. Total 60 penalties
- If Horse 1 has a refusal, Horse 2 also refuses and then either horse has another refusal = elimination..
